HIV-self-tests

Now available in Switzerland.
The press release from the Federal Office of Public Health points out to patients that HIV self-testing is now approved by Swissmedic. It recommends these tests not to order on the Internet, but to get them from specialist outlets such as pharmacies. HIV self-tests are now available on the market in Switzerland. The Exacto Test, which is also recommended by ApoDoc and Aids Hilfe Schweiz because of its reliability, ease of use and value for money, is also available as a duo package. Of course you can also do an HIV test at any time at our doctor’s office. This test can easily be done without consultation and anonymously. This means that your data will not be recorded in our system. This service, including blood collection and laboratory results, costs CHF 50. The result needs approx. 1 working day. According to the analysis lab, the combo test used detects an infection from 3 weeks onwards. It is important to note that only 3 months after the potential risk situation an HIV infection can be excluded to almost 100% certainty. This also applies to the HIV self-test. In the case of a positive result of a self-test, it is strongly recommended to have another test carried out in the analysis laboratory.
