test your blood sugar

Free blood glucose testing
175 years of cube sugar in 2018. As well as 175 years of the association of pharmacists in Switzerland (pharmasuisse) and 150 years of the association of the pharmacists of the canton Zurich – it is time to celebrate.
As a thank you to our costumers we offer free blood glucose testing on thursday May 24th at ApoDoc pharmacy. You do not need an appointment, but it is important that you are either sober or haven’t eaten something for 2 hours. Beyond that you get a 10% voucher for the Café Medici in addition to the free measurement.
Why is it important to measure the blood glucose level?
Diabetes (diabetes mellitus) is increasingly becoming a widespread disease. Particularly important is a timely detection of diabetes to avoid late damage. The late and consequential damages of inadequate therapy include vascular, skin, kidney and eye diseases. There is a difference in diabetes between type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. With ApoDoc in the pharmacy or in the doctor’s office (with doctor consultation) you have the possibility to measure the current blood sugar value.
How is tested?
Blood glucose tests are conducted with a quick fingerstick. Tests are available to individuals aged 18 years and older during pharmacy hours daily with no appointment necessary. All patients getting a blood glucose test will receive a pharmacist consultation to help better understand results.
Test results are not for diagnostic or treatment purposes and are not conclusive as to the absence or presence of any health condition. Recipients are encouraged to share test results with their primary care physician.
How long does a testing take?
A measurement takes about 10 to 15 minutes with interpretation of the pharmacist or the pharmacist.
